About a 45 minute drive south of Hua Hin is the Khao Sam Roi National Park, and hidden in the depths of this stunning national park is the Phraya Nakhon Cave. The cave is one of Thailand’s most spectacular, and most photographed caves. It is quite a challenging trek up to the cave from sea level, and requires the use of a hand rope at one point. It takes about 30 minutes to get up to the entrance to the cave.
Sat facing the sea, before the trek up to the cave
Having climbed up to the entrance to the cave, you now descend into the cave down a more gentle path. Eventually the temple comes into view, lit by a shaft of light coming through the hole in the roof of the cave. There is a forest (well a few trees) growing inside the cave, reaching up to the light, which makes the whole atmosphere even more magical.
I just stood in the chamber of the cave for while, looking up at the temple with the light shining down on it. It was a very tranquil and serene atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend coming to this tourist attraction, if you are visiting this part of the world.
