It’s been a great holiday so far in Dubai, and we’ve packed a lot of things in and visited many places. It is New Years Eve tonight and we are booked in for a meal at Bluewater’s Island, Dubai Marina, sat outside overlooking where the fireworks will be set off at midnight.

After the drone show, there was the usual countdown to midnight and then the fireworks went off in spectacular style. Everyone was wishing each other happy new year. It is now 2023.
On new years day we went to some friends of my brother’s family, for a barbecue and some drinks. I couldn’t have too many drinks because I was leaving for the airport at midnight. There was a birthday cake surprise laid on for me, because it was my 65th birthday on the 2nd January.
