It is 6 March today and I am still exploring Malaysia. I have just travelled from the island of Penang to the island of Langkawi. I had intended to take the 3.5 hour ferry trip to get here from Penang, but unfortunately the service has not restarted since it closed due to covid.
I am staying in the seaside town of Pantai Chenang, which is close to the airport, and I am here for 1 month. Langkawi is the largest island in an archipelago of 99 islands, just off the the north west coast of mainland Malaysia.
I have decided to go low budget for my time here, and am staying in a backpackers hostel called Rembulan (meaning the moon).
I have booked myself a private room at the hostel, a little more expensive, but a little more private, than sharing a dormitory with 9 other people.
I am in Cabin No. 2 which has 2 single beds. Both for me.
After unpacking my case and meeting some of the other travellers staying at the hostel, I went to take a look at the beach.
